Hey Bugler. Go stand in the middle of those weed patches coming up all through the track surface when we put you on video

One of the best things about racing is how the landscape can change year to year.

DD out driven.

I think out horsed, as I just watched again.

All subject to change going forward, both beautiful horses.

However the 7, Meshuggah, looked real strong, less urging than the 2 & 5 who were only lightly urged anyway, and he looked like someone I want to see next time.

DD out driven.

For sure but Emoticon Legacy won easy. I would have been interested to see Super Chapter in this mix. Hambo is pretty wide open right now IMO.

I think EL looks the best right now but still pretty open. I think Louis Roy is one of the best in the game.

Roy moves his horse on backstretch, DD out the whole last turn.

Go Dog Go is another real consideration. Him and EL are the only colts I have seen this year who have won big(gish) events under zero duress.

Super Chapter and Emoticon legacy look like the two standouts so far.  Maryland hasn’t seemed to mature like the others as of now.  Long season, who knows what will happen.

I personally interpret Maryland "not maturing" as being forced to mature too early. He was bionic last year. He is an absolute specimen, too, and if I had mares to breed to him next year, I would.

But from a pure 3yo racing standpoint, I look forward to the rest of the year. It doesn't feel like a one-horse domination year, which is always fun.
