Mack Cali is no longer, they are now Veris. They have shifted from office/commercial to multifamily residential, and sold their last commercial building just last year. They are a major, big time player. Mack and Calli merged way back in 1997 in what was the largest REIT transaction ever. Their investors made a fortune! If Veris is buying, there will be residential housing there ASAP.

Whoever buys and develops that land will make a mint. Some homes in the area are going for over 1 million. Even condos and mcmansions are high priced and sell quickly.

On the site of the old Brandywine Raceway there are a bunch of stores anchored by Target, and houses, most going for well over a million and they don't even look that great to me because I'm not into that style of home. All the way in the back, on the other side of the lake there are still remnants of the stable area.

If you knew anything about harness racing you wouldn't question Mark Ford's great horsemanship....

The sale is indeed occurring but closing push back a few days on some technical stuff. It's most definitely not for horse racing.

I'm told there are only two people left there now. The GM and the Plant Supervisor. There was track equipment being removed and the place is now completely sealed. Some last minute legal stuff pushed the closing back a few days.
The buyer has agreed to build a playground at the north end of the parking lot across from the main entrance. We believe it has something to do with cars but no one is saying more than a deal is done.

It's a closing. What does it matter? Racing there was and is long gone.
