I admire Mike's passion and caring about horses. I think his methods and how he conducts himself are despicable. Here's my take.....no, absolutely not, the video should not be disregarded. However, before we get into that, even before anyone talks about the video, I think there is a very important precursor element to this. That element is, standing, credibility, stature, and reputation in the sport and industry. Why? Because when an explanation or whatever is finally offered, I think those things are important so that you know "where" and "from who" that is coming from. Is it credible? Is the person credible? What is their reputation, stature, etc.? And no, the opinions about that, here on a BB count for $hit.Ray Schnittker is a professional, licensed trainer/driver. He has operated his own, well known, successful, public stable for the better part of 40 years or so. Perhaps more. A man who has been in an industry for 40 years. Ray has risen to the highest levels of the sport. He's won both the Hambletonian and the Meadowlands Pace, was also Trainer of the Year, and unless his term expired, he is a Director of USTA. And Mike, is who? What? What has he done, reputation, credibility, and stature-wise in this sport and industry.Don't tell me about self-authored claims, self-claimed importance, visions of grandeur, and self-generated accomplishments, etc. Show me objective, third-party substantiation, not first party self-authored. Remember, Mike has never been "included" or "invited" into any of the situations he speaks about or claims results for. He's not considered an expert, a resource, or a go to person for anyone or the sport or industry. He "inserted" himself into and "involved" himself in these situations. Listen, like I said, I admire his caring for horses. I wish more people had that. However, I feel that in many situations he gets involved when he shouldn't, and most of the times, he simply takes it way too far. I think his methods and how he conducts himself are atrocious. You cannot be a self-proclaimed policeman, prosecutor, and judge and then demand and look to hand out justice just because. You cannot attack, harass, and accuse people unconditionally. Do we need whistleblowers? Absolutely. But who that whistleblower is and how they conduct themselves is absolutely important. If you don't think standing, credibility, stature, and reputation have anything to do with this, I respectfully disagree.

Horse for sure looks crippled. My question would be did he break down training? We don't know the truth we only know/see what is shown to us. Have a hard time believing Ray would risk himself to train a crippled horse like that. Who knows!
