What happened to Freehold at the Meadowlands?
« on: March 23, 2025, 05:54:42 PM »
The dates were taken off the Meds calendar but I thought the money transferred. What’s the deal?

there was never any "freehold at the Meadowlands"

yes M1 received the money that was allocated to freehold--but why would you think that would lead to more racing dates?

that money will just blend into the  current purse account

I think there are more dates added later in the year, on Fridays and Saturdays, instead of the Sunday cards they were originally going to have.

Thanks. Hope they card races for freehold type horses. Lot of hiring horseman when that place closed.

They already are using freehold conditions. 68 and under TM is a former freefold class that has become common at Meadowlands,
