Flamboro Sunday
« on: January 05, 2025, 05:53:31 PM »
Race#5-# N Y HARDCORE 9-2 ML Drops in class from last start at Flammy, last two not great but London is not as fast, see if Ryan gets off the wings.

Race#9-#5 SOUTHWIND BAYOU 7-2 ML Can spring off the wings & there’s not much gate speed in here, expect a wire to wire job in here.

Race#10-#5 WILDCAT WATCHING 4-1 ML Not a great bunch in here, Thiessen needs to be aggressive off the wings in here to try to front them or get a pocket trip.

Best of luck!  tmbz1

Their handle is plummeting, down to around 250-270K. The product is horrendous with about 65-70 horse drawing in, of which 30 shouldn't be racing as they go off around 50-1 and get distanced on the regular. Since this has been going on for about five years now, you'd think COSA would come up with a solution. Nope, Billy O and the other grade six drop outs sit still while great canadian gaming continue their systemic effort to close both flammy and gorgian, thereby driving the final nails in the coffin for standardbred horse racing in Ontario. All the while hauling down a 200K salary not including expenses.

The handle was over 550k Sunday, should only race twice a week 12 races would help same as Western Fair .

Western fair races more than twice a week and that's not the only thing these two tracks don't have in common. One is run by a casino company that doesn't want to be in the horse racing business, the other by an agriculture society who profoundly wants horse racing to not only survive but thrive. Grand River would be the other shining example of how a track should operate.
