He's better off getting claimed by someone who actually cares so he can have a loving home that he deserves...but the fact that they would get paid to have someone take the horse off their hands is awful....no shame.

The connections were interviewed in the winner's circle after winning last week (nice win too, not cheap) and they seemed indifferent when asked what happens when he's done racing, almost like they dodged the question. Left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I was on here about 6 months ago when there was a page that was started about this horse. I commented then that what a P.O.S asshole this owner is that they keep racing the horse , just retire the poor thing and to give him the rest and retirement he deserves. I had asked how much money do you want to make ? Trying to get every single penny out of him, ridiculous. I know it’s a business but this nice racehorse made this owner lots of money over the years. He’s in for $5000 so it’s obvious this owner could give 2shits less what happens to him, what a fucking scumbag Ameer najor is. I really hope someone does claim him just for a nice pet and gives him the retirement he deserves. I’ve known a lot of dickhead owners but ameer najor you are definitely on the top of the list.

Shiaway St Pat won the first Hambletonian raced at the Meadowlands in 1981 with Ray Remmen driving. he was a gelding and raced until he was 14. At that time Hal Belote had him and he was racing in $3000 claimers or less in Delaware.

At 15 the ole boy can still crush them in the Amateur circuit races.. no doubt Amazon loves to race, so if he's sound n healthy why not add to his impressive win record under "new" management care.. then I'm pretty sure the Kentucky Horse Park would take him on being the winningest standardbred in history.. it can be a well deservered happy ending after all..

my thoughts exactly. someone will make their money back with him in amatuer races. holzman did an interview on you tube said he had a forrever home for him in michigan at a friends farm. this was a few yrs back.
what a dick move. i hope he gets claimed and races in the amatuer series at the meadowlands!

I hope someone with a conscience does exactly that. The sport doesn't need any any more black eyes.

If fans/bettors expect owners/trainers to manage their horses to the fans/bettors expectations, then the fans/bettors will continuously and consistently be disappointed. In cases where you are talking about older horses, ones that perhaps shouldn't be racing any longer, it is the track's responsibility to eliminate these types of situations, whether the owner does or doesn't. More tracks are starting to this on the t-bred side.
