I can't defend AMac this time
« on: October 16, 2024, 02:05:02 PM »
For the record I have always defended AM or avoided the conversion in the past, but can't this time

Scott Z chose off Memento Mori

Anthony told his clients he expected to use either James or Mark, but they were both already listed

says the colt is tricky to drive, wears a snake cord, can get hot.

Just so we are straight, James or Mark MacDonald, while neither have sat behind the colt, would have been listed.

But David Miller, Tim Tetrick, and Andrew McCarthy are not reliable to drive him, as they will all be in the drivers room.

while Anthony goes to Jersey to drive the horse

I'd be surprised if any of his clients are too thrilled with this decision.

Edit: I am not part of thestable, never have been.  I defend AM due to all the new owners he has brought in.

Zeron has babied the horse all year so will be interesting to see how lead foot handles him.  Mark sends them more than anyone so not sure he would have been any better.  Pry would have went with David Miller if the colt is as touchy as they say.

Thought it was interesting the Scotty Z chose off after setting a world record with him for Melander’s 8 hole.  That horse seems kind of average

PHP, what you also failed to mention that he said he does not care what anybody thinks and he will fly to NJ and then fly to Chicago and then fly back to Cleveland. Hate to see the expense for the clients but as always what does he care

AMAC will break the horse and Timeisonyourside will get parked. AMAC is a legend in his own mind.

I agree , lot great drivers will be watching him instead of one of them driving him

I know some trainer drivers who stink but won't use a catch driver because they don't want to give up the 5%.

5% of nothing is nothing. His Ego plus charging owners for flights and the opportunity to be next to the best drivers in the world is too much for AMAC.

have to agree, no need for him to go there
just an fyi , amac has sat behind him once in a charted line , in his second qualifier in june
might have trained him once or twice at most

Why drive a horse that wears every boot in the tack trunk or drive for a guy that can get you in the Hambo?

I have to tell you this about Lawmaker and AMAc wanting to drive Lawmaker in the Hambo. I was part of the Lawmaker syndicate owning 5 percent of Lawmaker. There was a lady named Gail who was part of the syndicate who was involved with The Stable.CA She also owned percentage in Lawmaker. Gail didn’t like Amacs driving so she headed a campaign to have a professional driver for this once in a lifetime chance of getting to go to the Hambo. There was also a married couple that had percentage in Lawmaker that did not want AMAc to drive either. Gail gathered all Lawmakers owners up as a group through email to campaign to have a professional driver on Lawmaker for the Hambo and of course the Hambo elimination. Of course AMAc didn’t like his dream of being able to drive in the Hambo ripped from under him. AMAc fought it but in the end AMAc did give in to letting the Lawmaker group have their way and getting a pro driver. Lawmaker group decided on Dave Miller. In the elimination Lawmaker was sitting in a great spot to at least to make it to final. I would have to look it up but I think Lawmaker was in the pocket riding the rail. Lawmaker made a huge break on the last turn heading to the 3 quarter pole with Dave Miller in the bike. So no Hambo for us. Would of love to see the outcome of AMAc sitting behind Lawmaker in the eliminations. I admit having reservations about having pulling AMAc off Lawmaker after AMAc drove Lawmaker as Lawmakers regular driver. After that, AMAc definitely put his foot down where owners can’t have names, phone numbers, emails to communicate with your co-owners on the same horse. I can tell you I didn’t have a clue who all the other owners were on most of my horses I owned percentages in. I finally pulled out of that stable when he started having “miscellaneous charges” on our bills. I know for a fact we were paying for Amacs Ohio rental house and all the utilities, etc divided amongst  all the owners. AMAc also would make his owners pay for fines also. Gail put an end to that when AMAc tried to spread an excessive whipping violation fine amongst his owners in their monthly bills. I finally got out when he started that Miscellaneous charge bullshit.

I have always felt your better off going with a trainer that charges only legitimate training expenses without the unrestricted lifestyle amenities included. Also, there should be good two way communication between owner and trainer including knowing who your partners are. Otherwise, it's a broken ownership plan.

Absolutely. Listen, if he discloses everything going in, then you know what you are getting into and you have no right to complain. If he doesn't, that's not right. Period. I have no idea what you sign, agree to, before, during, after, etc. Buyer beware. That supersedes all.
