RIP Johnny Hockey
« on: August 30, 2024, 08:41:29 AM »
I know we are on the harness racing thread but what a horrible story. Being from the Columbus area it was a HUGE deal for him to want to play for the blue jackets. Our franchise has sucked for its whole 25 year existence and he was the first huge free agent signing in franchise history. He just had a son in February and leaves behind a daughter and wife as well. Hug or kiss your loved ones today because no day is promised to any of us.

Wow.....crazy story. So sad to hear, a young guy with a young family. Guy had his whole life ahead of him. Just terrible.

So the drunk driver that killed the Gaudreau brothers had his first appearance in court yesterday via zoom. The Judge told him he would have to wait until Thursday for his detention hearing where his bond would be set... Holiday weekend etc..His reaction was saying" I have to be here until Thursday"  He then sat back in his chair and kind of rolled his eyes and let out a big sigh.Yeah dude you just killed 2 innocent people because of your dumb decisions.. staying in jail until a bond is set is the least of your worries. Maximum sentence for him is 20 years.. I hope he gets it.
