That’s right!39-37-0-0I saw him live at Batavia Downs in 1980 live and in person!Read the stat line above! How many times will Karl race?39 starts seems very unlikely!!
Hear hear...how about one that raced multiple years...I remember reading Moni Maker was over 90% 1-2-3 lifetime...with over 100 lifetime starts. Varenne was probably about 95% with about 75 lifetime starts.
No horse comes close to Bret Hanover..68 starts with 62 wins, 5 places and 1 show with 3 consecutive Horse of the year awards. In your words, nuff said.
That is why I always mention Peace Corps.. Moni Maker is the only trotter that made more then her and she had way more starts.. plus Peace Corps routinely raced against the boys and destroyed them moni maker won 67 of 109 starts.. Peace Corps won 62 of 93 starts with 81 times in the top 3
As far as pacers go its a tie for me between Bret and Niatross for the GOAT.
No disagreeing with this
Moni Maker frequently raced against the boys--winning two Nat Ray'snot sure who raced vs males more--but Moni Maker was better than you give her credit for
Actually Mike, I think Bret was 62-0, Frank Erwin on the other hand was 0-5-1.. Anyway, aside from your sometimes SALTY rhetoric, I agree with you a vast majority of the time. Evidently yours and my wheelhouse are about the same. Loved those 60's and 70's.
Adios Vic and Cardigan Bay got him once or twice but he was unreal even with Ervin.
True Duane got him once. Adios Vic 2nd over at Hollywood Park was basically the nuts.
I forgot about True Duane. He was only 3 when he beat 4 year old Bret. That race was out in California. It was a mile and an eighth. Boring was just a kid then. Any other year, True Duane would have been tops but he ran into Jerry Silverman and Romeo Hanover. I know one thing, those True Duane colts were racehorses. Tough to break though.
