Brian Brown cooks another one - Geocentric done

How many good ones have been great two yr olds and just tailed off to nothing?  It's a consistent pattern with Brown.

No question. He must be very tough on the young ones. By time they are three, they are toast.

I actually believe the opposite.  He doesn't put any miles into them.  He jogs 100mph and they go maybe 2-3 miles and have no base.  They train them but the horses have no miles in them and are stuck in a stall 23:30 hrs a day.  I think they come to speed quick and then they are torched.  I have watched him for ten yrs or more and the same thing over and over and over.  Yes he had DBTS but that's one out of 1000-1500 and if you remember he was bad early and didn't get good again till late.

You may be right but what I have found over the years is speed isn't the issue, bone density is. Sometimes, a two year old is just not not ready to race even though they can pace or trot out of a harness. The real smart trainers will shut one down, as they see splints and shins are ready to erupt. You then have the trainers that say I don't care, I have 50 others. The tough ones look great but a lot of damage is done and when you pick them back up at three, they just aren't the same horse.

Didn't forget. Do you realize how many babies he buys every year? Of course odds dictate that he is going to have some success but I sure wouldn't want to be bankrolling his operation.

Geo was one helluva 2 year old but I always thought she had a weird  gate almost like a nod.  I’m not saying by any means Brian or the top notch vets he uses couldn’t figure it out so I chalked it up to a weird gate.  She still has that stride this year but she puked in the breeders crown, puked today and puked in Canada.  My girl EJ is top of class this year.  Good Luck to the Brown crew get her figured out and win a shit ton of late money.
