In watching the replay a few times, he was edging out coming out of the last turn after Dexter popped the plugs (at 1:20.2) and then just lost his strength.  His gait looked OK and Dexter was not looking around to see if anything was amiss with his legs, so it might have been an episode of Afib or electrolyte imbalance causing the issue.

Send him back to Moreau to train if ya want to get out. Any body think Andrew could better him, he didn't even get a good start out of him. Where will he race next? Andrew keeps getting in deeper, how many has he got now? Has any of the race horses he bought even close to paying even the training bill? After awhile it's gonna get pretty boring going to the races, watching your horses get beat all the time. Ya get a new hoby.

To my eyes, he took a couple bad steps (which I also didn't notice in the live race). Yeah, he was already going backwards, but nothing like exhaustion and a horse who was clearly trying hard to get one hurt.

I hope he's alright and it is something you mentioned, or bled bad, etc. He's a pretty nice animal.

Get Mike what's his name on the case. If there's something wrong, not only will he know about it, but he will appoint himself as investigator, prosecutor, judge, jury, and enforcer, and he will tell everyone, everywhere, about the misdeeds.
