Hughes got suspended right before Old Home week a few years ago, will he be racing by then?

Rene Allard use to ship into Hughes, Donnie McRae used Allard & Hughes religiously.

Gamester wouldn't be a trainer of a stable of that size, maybe 2-3 that her family/friends own.

Can't wait for the 12 days of Old Home Week this year.
Been going now at least 20 years in a row.
Taking one down to try our luck.
We don't need to race, it's the camaraderie & the bond with the horses that makes it special.
*3 y.o colt has 2 wins so far as a sophomore,  3 starts
 *3 y.o filly has surprised, a win & a 3rd,  3 starts

Good luck K Hanover...
and yes like any harness track, lots of cheaters to have to zig zag through.
But...if you can 'suspend reality' for a few days, you can have great time both at track and elsewhere in Charlottetown during Old Home Week, where so much harness lineage comes from...you know the names.

No denying the big league feel the Red Shores team put together each year there.
I was there three years ago, during a covid all systems go window there. Remember going to track that thursday night and it was packed all ages, a rainy friday night, followed by the big show beautiful sat night again all packed. The real top handle night is the final sat night. They race most every day from previous Satuday I believe, approx 7 days worth thru to the final day, a doubleheader Saturday. (heats for the Gold Cup and Saucer final go previous Sat night and the Monday night.
Also have their annual week of Summerside Raceway coming soon too.

If you like a big 'small city,' lobster, mostly real nice weather, lots of water, golf, Anne of Green Gables not far,  red dirt and potatoes, and a bustling race track that weekend with lots of people of all ages (and simulcasting and a casino too right there) then Charlottetown PEI the place in August.
.and Canadian money too.

Jordan Stratton came up to drive and win with NY hardknocker Covered Bridge last year in front of thousands 100gs cdn the purse

The Cushings have won there, the Allards, etc.
The Macdonalds and Jamiesons and Moores and many other Maritime powerhouses you know always represent in that race and on the strong undercard. Vance Cameron's call and Ken Warkentin returns too, always part of the show, coming back to Canada.

Heres last yr Final..enjoy

Hearing is today my bet is Hughes is back by Sunday for da Lobster Carnival.

Hughes & Patty-boy are cousins, he was a bright up & coming juicer himself, who got kicked out of Ontario when I was there, due to owing money to everyone & their dog.
