Vernon Race caller spooking horses
« on: July 05, 2024, 01:28:00 PM »
I spoke to a couple drivers last night and he is so loud when he screams , It pretty much happens every race.
Maybe lower the volume or better yet , stop screaming !

Secondly, instead of worrying about calling the goofy nicknames of the drivers, maybe concentrate on getting the horses correct name. I assume he is a nice guy but every race isn't the Kentucky Derby. Tone it down a little please.

He didnt call TCI breaking nor did he see it

not expecting much from an announcer from Vernon-but geez, this horse was very hyped

what did he have his eyes on?

Sorry, but I’ve been saying for couple years, this announcer is not good. He calls horses that are way back in the top of the stretch, will say so and so is flying on the outside then doesn’t even hit the board. Calls wrong horses during race, probably a great guy but just not a good race announcer.

It is the Zweig, the tracks biggest race of the year and you have a 1/5 shot

that should have been his priority-having his eyes on that horse as the gate opens

then he can return to his goofy nicknames and bad calls

He does stink, the guy that does my home tracks Buffalo and Batavia stinks, I used to like the guy from Yonkers that is now at Ocean. I'm not a fan of Warkentin. Erlich is just ok in my eyes. Howie Oil is average at Best. The 8 announcers that are calling at Yonkers are one worse than the other. Shades at Tioga sounds like Boo Boo Bear. They just don't make em like they used to: Mckee/Bothe/Szymanski/Robinson,Boyd and Zambito at Batavia/Jim Moran at Vernon before he got old. Oh well, that's enough reminiscing, I'm aging myself.

I am aware he didn't realize horse broke in this call. Honestly, I think he's pretty good. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YJzBkz3jAJY&pp=ygUdSGl0Y2hoaWtlciBoYXJuZXNzIHJlIG92ZXJ5LiA%3D
