One of the biggest cheats in history and one of the first to bring around exotic drugs into the game. Inventor of “groom pissed in the stall” defensive strategy.

Mickey was very genuine, down to earth guy. Great family and religious man. Always had  great stories to share with you. Loved Mickey❤️.
Anyone who knew him would say the same. Would give you the shirt off his back. Always quick to help others less fortunate. 86 and was still going in training sets. Missed not seeing him there this year. Great horseman, great father, great man. We”ll miss you Mick! 😔❤️❤️❤️

R Kelly, I think that it was a tasteless thing to say about a man who can't defend your charges. I never met the man. But talking bad about the dead is bad karma. Rest In Peace Mickey Burke Sr.

Mickey Burke Sr was a Legend. One of the greatest horsemen that ever sat behind a horse. Great judge of a yearling and a racehorse. What he didn’t know about harness horses was very little.
I talked to him in Lexington a few years back and in the few minutes we talked I found him to be a kind man not ostentatious but a down to earth hard working family man.
He will be missed and harness racing just lost one of its finest participants
RIP Mickey- gone but lives on in many people hearts. 💕
