Mohawk Questions
« on: April 05, 2024, 12:03:16 PM »
I'll post on the official Mohawk thread later after Rabbit or someone else starts it.  I have two curiosity questions for anyone willing to chime in.

What did the new owners pay for Mikki Sixx?

Early thoughts on "Hudon off" angle.

No clue on the owner. Seems to be a nice horse though. As for Hudon angle. You have to consider it.
Have thought of it already. Certainly depends who they put up. How big of an upgrade. Will look for
your picks later Mac.

Hudon is a terrible driver--he is injured right now from the accident last Saturday night

similar to Drury as far as driving skills go

nice horse, have no idea what they paid

Hudon-Anyone about an improvement in reality.

I’d say Filly had to be 150+ filly, staked potential etc

Thanks for the replies, guys.  tmbz1

I think Mikki Sixx looks fabulous so far.  Should be able to string a few more wins before tasting defeat.  Could be anything.  A bird in G Mc's hand is worth two in the Bush.

As for Hudon, my long time best friend and a terrific handicapper, Maywood Mike, thinks less of him than you three if that is possible.  Refuses to even consider betting him under any circumstances.  He would consider any driver change a significant upgrade.

Although I'm not a big Hudon fan, I'm not afraid to bet him IF I like the horse a lot, odds are decent, and the race sets up right.  Phil is very good at one thing.  He can "make speed" any place in a race, leaving, mid race brushing or closing from the clouds.  Most horses he drives GO for him.  But since he rarely drives one of the favorites, he needs to time his moves perfectly to have any chance.  He isn't the greatest tactician.  Rarely gets a second over trip.  Tends to overdrive a lot of the time.  And spends way too much time worrying about other horses in the stretch.  Instead of concentrating on his horse, he is always looking around.  I swear that one of these days his head will unscrew and roll down the track.

I've been watching Hudon for years and I don't think that he's a bad driver, I think his lack off effort is in question! There's no blood like family blood and this is apparent when both of these guys are in the same race. I may be incorrect but I doubt it!

Both of which guys?
Pat gets 100 drives a year province wide, and Joe retired years ago.

Did Chris Bush sell the filly? Or did he decide to give her to someone else to train? Thanks.

Greg McNair's owners bought the filly. Looks like Doug will keep the drive.
