Assuming he was the one betting, as long as he did not bet on baseball, he should be fine unless there is a rule which baseball players cannot bet on other sports, which I doubt.

It looks like the interpreter could be a scapegoat, but I guess we will find out.

ESPN reported that none of the bets were on baseball. Sounds like the bet log was turned over to authorities.
