Shameful.  Seems like gvt and  majority of canadian public has wanted to end this for a few yrs. If this violates canadian decency and cultural standards practice should stop.

Does underscore why i place a lot of blame on gvt and regulators. Both almost always slow or incompetant in acting.

Im often of mind that harmful practices dont stop until someone speaks forcefully from bully pulpit. If it is getting considerable play in canadian press  i believe it will stop.

So everyone is okay that we farm cows, chickens, pigs, etc for slaughter and consumption. Why is this any different?

Someone needs to inform these idiots that top end race horses fly all over the world with the intention of competing at the top level in a few weeks. All other sport horses do the same. Do they think those people all ride their horses to the Olympics??

The issue as i see it is one for canadian people to decide but i gathered since prime minister called for this to stop 2 yrs ago they already had registered some how that eating horses was not within accepted canaadian  societal values. Maybe akiin to eating dogs, cats etc.  I wouldnt eat horse myself though love beef. I guess i see horses personslly more akin to pets which would revulse me to eat. But to each their own.

Im fine with what ever canadian public finds acceptable but displeased no followup has been enacted in that time since pm said to stop.
