Freehold Friday Race 1
« on: October 19, 2023, 05:58:20 PM »
This is the worst field I thought I ever saw ( until I got to race 2)

Come on handicappers. Take a look and post your selection and how you got there.

I'll join in tomorrow.

R2 you can excuse, sort of, as you have 2 and 3s entered. There are 8 horses with a total of 38 starts with combined earnings of $10,552. Pretty hard to pay the bills so far but they are babies. Now R1 is pretty awful as you pointed out. 8 horses with combined 2023 starts equaling 153. Total wins this year 6. And to add to this mystery race is an 8/5 ML fav being driven by the future HOFamer Mark Herschberger. Good luck picking this Daily Double.  tmbz1

3 yo fillies mixed in with 13 and 14 yo mares wow!

I would use the 4 and 5. The 4 had some pace last week with Eric Abz now switches to Marohn and the 5 should be leaving and get a good trip.

Anybody else?

Remember the days we would go to the track or OTB and every race was a debate or discussion of the next race. I think one of the reasons the industry is dying is everyone bets from home. No discussion.

This is not a contest. I wanted to do a mind meld to see how people handicapped a race.

Thanks theo and ABC for your opinions. 1/2 hout to Posttime

Ok Here goes

1. trainer 0-82...Horse always loses by at least 10 lengths  even vs the worst of Ovean Doens
2. 8-5 ML  wtf...and sfe is eeven getting bet with real money. I thing $$$ will come off of this one late...awful
3.Been years since in the money
4. Mongiello empty since getting caught with needles
5.has speed whch is important in these awful races...been off a month as well. But that may help...second choice
6 awful driver trainer and horse
7.0-40 LT
8. Hot trainer and trainer change...has speed to get over on this field  choice

8 win  box 58  dd  58/26

Though the board shows a 12 line up. which would be frightening miscarriage of racing. Barn is pounding the 2. Should take Molnar off in handcuffs if she has been dirtying this horse up so severely. 8 getting the late $$$$

As predicted a ton of late $$$$ came off the 2. I hate to say this but the mares next trip is likely to be the the Ford death farm

You hit the DD. Unfortunately $4 invested got you only $7.40 but a win is a win. Congrats!
