I AGREE RACING123. HAWTHORNE DOES THAT ON PURPOSE BECAUSE THEY FINALLY HAVE THE CHANCE TO STICK IT RIGHT BACK TO THE HARNESS GUYS WHO KEPT KISSING JOHNSONS ASS AND TELLING THE RACING BOARD THAT IT WAS BETTER TO RACE AT MAYWOOD AND BALMORAL. TIMMY CAREY IS SAYING HOW DO YOU LIKE IT NOW? WHATS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER. CHICAGO HARNESS RACING WAS PRETTY MUCH OVER AROUND 1995. WHEN JOHNSONS GOT INVOLVED THE TRACKS WENT STRAIGHT DOWN HILL. JUST WISH THEY WOULD HAVE HARNESS RACING BUT MAKE THEM ONLY RACE FOR WHATEVER PURSE MONEY IS BET ON THEIR PRODUCT. CANT WAIT UNTIL THE CASINOS BREAK AWAY FROM THEM

By the race, Friday night was by far the strongest betting night of the 3 nights you quoted. Friday:$52K per race, Sat:$32K per race and Sun:$42K per race. We’ve seen much, much worse in recent years i.e. Buffalo, Batavia, Vernon, Tioga, Harrahs Philly, Plainridge, Rosecroft, Dover and Ocean. Then we’ve seen better but not many: Meadowlands, Monticello, Yonkers and Northfield. The USTA reports the average bet per race in 2023 is $47,136 up around 3% from 2022. Nothing to get too excited about.

I dropped my daughter off at Midway, so visited Hawthorne on way home yesterday morning. Looked like nothing going on as to construction. Viewing area still confined to clubhouse turn. More picnic and other tables than before, probably leftover from T-Bred meet.

  • Bitter Truth: That Golden Tempo , I'm afraid is  a money burner. Gets so far back. Was in range but just hung and raced even in the stretch. Didn't see a Derby winner in there in my opinion.

  • Trigger: I thought BT & I had a real good shot w/ a 110 4/5, wide but nice momentum, and then a sharp left turn mid stretch ended that  ngc3
