brace bandages up front and obvious ball solution on his rear white legs. When he raced -- brace bandages behind and knee and tendon boots up front. Plus a Bret Hanover shadow roll. Definitely a throw back.

OK, I have put on a thousand shadow rolls of every style know to man, but never heard of a specifically named "Bret Hanover" shadow roll. From the pictures I remember he wore just a plain two toned shadow roll. Have I missed something all these years?

The Bret Hanover shadow roll I used was cream colored, small in diameter and had two leather half moon pieces off of the centerline. Not a great idea but we thought it looked trick.

I remember shadow rolls and brush shadow rolls, Not many others.

Correct. Two toned shadow roll. Don't see many anymore.

Shadows rolls and super high heads with bow-tight overchecks are becoming a thing of the past. Test Of Faith points the way to the future.

Yes, they are.  Don't see many 1/2 round, 1/2 swedge either.  I never understood the high head and tight overchecks.

Yes, used to see guys check their horses up so high it was crazy. Remember the amish guy Syl King?  He used to race a couple at YR unchecked. I think one was Strikey Ironstone

Back in the day Bill Robinson stepped up a lot of horses like this.  Everything that came to him his head was let down several holes, hobbles let out 2-4 inches...4 alum shoes on and down the road.
