well case seems weak if it wasnt on him..i do not know him...he as a legal case tho for defamation...shou ld be interesting.

They found the gun when a certain driver filed a complaint with the judges after the races the other night saying Brandon threatened him. And naturally because the other driver is a management kiss ass and Brandon is gay, security searched his vehicle and found the loaded gun and banded him for life. The other drivers don’t like him because like I said, Brandon could kick anyone of their asses. It was the best way to get rid of him so the management suck ups all complain about Brandon being gay etc.

got a call 20 minutes ago from brandon bates he wanted to clear the air

he was in drivers room 2 security guys pulled him out wanted to search his dodge pick up truck

after extensive search his gun was found in a concealed area not out in the open ,,not in the paddock

he has a permit to conceal and carry for the last 20 yrs in indiana and surrounding states ,,

brandon is astonished to believe he was suspended for 30 days ..

Something seems off here.   Indiana has constitutional carry.  I  believe private property has to ask you to remove it from the property and you have to refuse before it's an issue.  That is why the kid that saved all those lives was able to have a gun at a gun free mall.

I’m telling you what I know. Part of lucPark story is right except he left out key points that Brandon in fact is a good guy but not well liked because he doesn’t take any bs and is very outspoken. He also is not suspended for 30 days. He is permanently barred forever as it stands right now. He is supposed to get his hearing within 30 days and that is what he is talking about a 30 day suspension. Luc also left out that supposedly Brandon threatened another driver who filed a complaint against him. The driver doesn’t like Brandon and Brandon doesn’t like the driver. Btw Brandon does in fact have a conceal and carry permit. This is a witch-hunt and totally bs because he is gay and always does seem to bitch at other drivers more then necessary. With that said I do like Brandon and hope that he can return soon but I’m being told by one of the leading drivers that it’s a permanent ban forever.

This is a private business they can ban him just because they want to no reason given. If they give a reason that could open up legal action. They dont need to give him a hearing. The racing commission would need to give a hearing to suspend him but Hoosier needs no reason. Northfield has done this to many horseman

It is a business decision.  Having said that, New York and maybe in  other states, businesses have to post that legally licensed guns are allowed on their premises.

I talked to my uncle today who is a licensed attorney in philly and he said your post is partially true however, with the casinos merging in with the track it opens up a very good legal debate. He said mostly because if the racetrack receives any funding from the state or government by the means of tax breaks or state money, then it is receiving funds from taxpayers and therefore is no longer private property and in fact could be public property. Just some good for thought. I have no clue but that’s what he told me. With that being said I hope Brandon hires a good lawyer and he is able to come back soon. I also agree with the other poster in this thread who said trace is the sheriff at Hoosier and Delong is the deputy. If they don’t like you or you have more talent than them which isn’t very much, then you’re out!!!
