Trotting trainer decision--AKE or JIMMY?
« on: August 20, 2023, 01:41:29 PM »
If you owned a Hambo contender, who would want to have it ready for this race, in their prime?  AKE won 4 trotting races at Pocono yesterday.

 Well I wouldn't give Ake a pacer

We don't need to race, it's the camaraderie & the bond with the horses that makes it special.
*3 y.o colt has 2 wins so far, 4 out of 5 starts in top3
 *3 y.o filly has surprised,  1 win, 2nd & a 3rd, 4 starts

Takter, smart enough to put right person up to drive. Ake is more of an egotist than Jimmy ever was.

Ake an amzing trainer. If he just trained and used a top-level catch driver, his numbers would be way better.

His horses never use trotting hobbles, no lasix, and can all leave the gate. They also rarely break stride. Has produced some world-class totters and now sires. Plus you never see him pay crazy money for one ( more than $500,000) that turns out to be a dud. Taxter and his daughter can't say that.
He's Truly a master!!!
