They always raced a horse intelligently, and brought your horse back in one piece...cannot say the same thing about most of they guys today.

And with Pierce, you can wave “bye-bye” during a race too!!

Agreed, both Pierce and Waples brought their horses back in 1 piece and won quite a few big races too at big prices too!

Of course the kind of horse is going to factor in. I will say that in the Meadowlands Pace and the Hambo -- today's Yannick and Scott, and Jackie Mo in his prime (say early 90's)...I would pick Jackie Mo.

Ron Pierce for the BIG $$$ was the best ever.

Scott Zeron does real good in big races. He backs some live drives. That is good since he doesn't have a consistent big stable behind him.
