That was horrific. I am familiar with the trainer and she truly loves her animals. She was sitting on the rail crying as the poor horse was being tended to. Parcells was pretty upset too. We all know its part of racing but it's still heartbreaking.

Was awful to watch live as a fan of  horses and racing. Ive seen a few tragic scenes and this one hard to watch.  I guess they all are. I remember the one with the filly and mare in 1990 when go for wand broke down. There, the stretch drive was neck and neck ala affirned/alydar. Yesterday at spa just looked to me like bad step. Feel bad for all, parcells in particular. He a local legend now and horse lover. Well liked in commuinity - rare celebrity that im told is approachable and personable to average joe.

It was terrible, immediately made me think of Go For Wand as well. I feel so bad for the trainer with all she has been through.

I was at the track Saturday and was never so disgusted in my life. I saw a bunch of people yelling and high fiving when she fell because they cashed a bet. One of the guys had a Tiz the Law hat on. I was hoping to see Jack Knowlton on the backstretch Sunday morning and tell him what a bad look for his stable/brand but didn't see him. I will never forget the cheers when that poor horse went down.

No body ever says that race fans are classy people. But some people can reach new depths of disgusting. I saw much of the same and left after that race, before I said something to the wrong person.
