When you let a track executive tell a man in the field how to do his job. Its surmountable to a bus boy telling the head chef how to cook.  The meadowlands puts out a product not for the betting PUBLIC, its made for two or three track Whales. thats it!

Jason just a Gural pawn cashing a decent paycheck, getting Gural perks with his own horses. Business as usual with sports betting being the cash cow and racing a diversion at best.

Agreed, but without Gural the whole deal was dead in the water. He still spends millions of his own cash year over year on the racing side but it is a drop of what he is making on FanDuel and even more so in real estate.

More importantly while every other track was doing next to nothing about the cheating trainers with their drugs, Gural made it clear he would not stand for it. I guess the naysayers would rather get screwed week after week by the cheats and only have Yonkers and Monticello to bet on in the NYC area. If you really like harness racing you should thank Gural not speak poorly of him.

I agree with the frustration about the no hole rule. Im on a 3/5 out of the 7 or 8 hole. Not enough gate spreed to get to the front. Normally i would leave a little and get a hole from someone who wants a helmet. With these rules i can't and have to either double tbe horse up and drop back to last or race on the outside and look like a dipshit the whole mile.

I don't have any problem with the amateur races. They're entertaining to watch...as long as I'm not in the mix

If Mr Superfecta believes Gural is a hypocrite while all the other track owners do absolutely nothing about the chemists? Mr Superfecta why do you think the Pocono Downs handles are so ridiculously low since they have a strong group of horses and drivers? Could it be that we intelligent people know you cannot trust their management to control their cheating? How long did Allard and Surick get away with their cheating while PD officials did nothing, Mr Superfecta? You call others ignorant, Mr Superfecta, yet you cannot find in your little world to recognize when someone like Gural is trying to give you an honest chance, Mr Superfecta. Gural has spent a fortune on testing and has done a good job cleaning out the cheaters. He continues to lose millions on his investment but still loves harness racing. Gural bought the Meadowlands for one reason and one reason only $$$$$.  If he or anyone tells you he is losing money they have zero clue what there talking about.  First off Jeff isn't stupid.  He bought the Meadowlands with the sole purpose to get sports betting and a casino.  He essentially bought a billion dollar casino for a few million.  He didn't even put up the majority of the money.  He has many many investors and what people don't know is that his money is protected by the state!  He can't lose money on this deal.  His investors can lose 100% of there money and his is backed 110%. Now that he has sports betting he's golden.  All you hear about is him putting HIS money up but he doesn't tell you is HIS revenue and all the write offs and tax breaks he's using against his other properties.  His asset value is more than 10x what he paid for the Meadowlands.

As for Settlemoir - I wish he would just come out of the closet and admit he's gay.  It's no secret that after he caught the ex wife banging the plumber he went off the deep end and now plays for the other team.
