My top three to drive good gaited, good mannered, push button horses in the Sportsman's Park American National stakes.
Dave Magee
Tom Harmer
Tony Morgan
I didn't consider Tetrick, Andy Miller, or Marcus Miller because even though they were born, raised, and drove their first starts at IL. fairs, they didn't stay around long.

My top three to drive a hard headed, bad acting, knee knocking, cross fireing, falling down SOB of the 1960's.
Don Busse
Harry Burright
Fast Eddie Lutes
Fast Eddie was driving just such a horse at Maywood when they crashed.
Eddie died a couple days later in the hospital.

That was Vince Tamborello who died in a crash at maywood when his head hit the concrete drainage ditch and split his helmet in half. Eddies lutes was beaten by the mob in downtown Aurora when he didn’t pay up

Yes Vince died as you say. I had just sold him a horse a few days before.
Yes Eddie was beat up and should not have been driving, but it was crash at Maywood, that put final nail in coffin.
I first met Eddie when he was  a teenager working for Lloyd Perrin. He wore a big cowboy hat. From then on I called him Tex. He had a nickname for me too.

Specking of the mob and Chicago drivers.
Was the Jim Wondergem case ever solved?
Was it murder, suicide, or a mob hit.
I never did hear for sure what happened,
Anybody know?
