"Parents Pride died suddenly on Saturday, and Chasing Artie collapsed and died following Race 8 on Tuesday. Two other horses, Wild on Ice and Take Charge Briana, sustained critical musculoskeletal injuries from which they couldn't recover. Both were euthanized for humane reasons."

When you say "Sport" it is a big picture, huge, not as much to us lol.

To Churchill Downs this (Derby) is something they have that no one else has, no matter how big a purse, media and advertising.  Decade after decade they relished with virtually no major controversy.  Recent years mind boggling shit, dq's, drugs, covid, and yet it doesn't hurt the bottom line.  Teflon, but even for John Gotti in the end, it wore off.  In the end 149 years (of KYDs) this is what we know of, what else don't we know of?

But the Sport has already survived the FBI, and so has the Mafia too.

How everyone here feels about Saffie, Baffert, even Pletcher who accepted an Eclipse award for Trainer while being suspended for dope shows our level of insanity for maintaining.  Hey give anyone of us the badge and authority, I see integrity, and without, I'm laughing pretty hard at the thought of standing by a cliff with any of these trainers, and giving them the ol' attaboy big slap on the back - the thought of that goes down very nice!
