Horse looked rough when he came out. That was fucking nasty, say prayers for the boys and the horses. Pray they got lucky. Move your god damned hand holds up.

Appears Marcus Miller was asking the horse to give more than it could, and simply went down.  He was the post-time favorite.

Paper on the track horse tried to jump it came  down

Marcus ok tmbz1

Agree, slowed it down and no paper, He did just hit the disc and the horse jumped. The rest are laying so far back in the bike, have no hold of one. Also that horse probably didnt feel a thing, Pain management.

He jumped a wrapper or paper

Those are facts
Horse was not even with lead horse

So it’s not about over driving or any of the rest of the plop investigation bullshit.

They honored the remaining drivers tickets?  Seems fair.

Most people have absolutely  no clue how fucking dangerous  it is out there. Hitting the track going 35mph is like getting  slammed onto concrete. Theres a million things that can go wrong. Ive had horses suddenly  swerve because of a cloud causing a moving shadow on the track. Ive had rabbits run in front of me. The paper jumping is pretty common. These horses are wired and skittish. They're  race horses. Not carnival kiddie rides. Everytime a horse goes down the accusations  of drug use (and I hate that drug abuse shit as much as anyone else) are at the top of the list, but usually  its something  else that causes it.

agreed, its wild out there
to me the danger is when the drivers get thrown up in  the air with the sling shot effect and hit the track from that height, that is dangerous
let alone the  chance of then getting run over
tv does not do the speed or danger justice

And if you think standardbreds are skiddish just spend a week in the tbred business. Theres no comparison. I can tell you stories for years about the crazy shit thoroughbreds do.

Thats true. I have never turned down a drive on a standardbred regardless  of how bad an actor they are. But theres no way I could ever be a jockey. The constant struggle
to make weight, those thin silks when its 2 degrees out, that spine breaking way they position their bodies  in the race,  the knowing that if you go down you're  almost guaranteed  a broken bone. They earn every penny of that 10%.
