They should have knocked down the main Grandstand the day the casino was approved. keep the clubhouse and put in a few bleachers and a single story betting enclosure /cafe. I raced there in the 90's and that main grandstand was a dinosaur then. Horse Racing in general and Harness racing in particular have little or no relevance to today's casual bettor and for the addicts a grandstand is of no consequence. In the last 5 years I've raced at 7 tracks in a very limited capacity from (the top Hoosier Park to the bottom (LOL Kentucky's mighty Thunder Ridge-scariest place I've ever raced and I've raced Cars-motorcycles-Greyhounds -Harness and TBreds) and every one of the parimutual tracks cvould have been run with less than 5% of the seats EXCEPT Hoosier.

In hindsight it should have been demolished once casino was approved, but they held a few concerts there and the place was packed.  Would hate to see the quote for removal of that roof plus all that concrete.  I think that's why they have been dragging their feet.   With the slope of the apron and with the sun to your back, they could make it into a great concert venue if they wanted to.

Your stupid big boy dirty talk doesn't impress anyone.  The horse races are run as prescribed.  If the casinos don't leverage that as an event to attract gamblers and gamers - that, in no way, is on the horsemen.

Sure can't disagree w/ your suggestion to just wait until the next Ohio meet starts.  SD has let this go on all week.  do they really figure all the bettors are anxiously hoping and checking for their races to come back.  Real similar to a retail store closing for a couple days, no matter the reason.  Customers might give them a 2nd try- but, that's it.  after that, they just go elsewhere.
