RACING DATES ILLINOIS 2022
« on: July 31, 2021, 06:03:47 AM »

Hawthorne has requested 365 days of harness racing and 365 days of t-bred racing. They requested this simply because they did not know of Arlington’s plan for next year. Obviously they can’t be racing this schedule but the way the dates are requested, you can withdraw part of your dates request but you cannot add dates afterwards. So they played it safe because of Arlington Park’s uncertain commitment to the future.

Arlington Park, as expected and feared, has requested zero racing dates for 2022. So unless Arlington and Churchill Downs have a trick up their sleeve, there will be no racing there in 2022.

And according to the IHHA website Hawthorne is still very interested in building that 2nd Chicago area racetrack the industry really needs ngc3 ngc3 ngc3....what a shame for the illinois harness horsemen and women...I feel sorry for them with their fate being the hands of the ass clown association that represents them and the even bigger ass clowns...the management crew of tim carey and company at hawthorne... ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

it's been a painful slow death for the illinois harness sport....but no worries..the misery will end soon...there's still michigan, ohio and indiana if you care to stay in business...

As someone once so eloquently said....it's a dead game laddies

It will be interesting what they did request now and what they come up with at the Sept IRB meeting. If there is no Arlington dates simply can't see Hawthorne not have summer dates for the thoroughbreds. How this shapes up for harness and how you race 2 and 3 yr old stake horses will be confusing unless they do something with Springfield? Lot's of questions and time is ticking. Even if a second track comes up in the future if those dates aren't set in Sept no racing will happen their in 2022. I'm sure the lame asses will put forth some statement saying how bright the harness landscape in Il is so go buy yearlings in the next 4-5 weeks.
