Pete Wrenn and Tony Morgan come to mind and you can bet your life on that.

When I had horse I would always give my driver a $10 or $20 Win Ticket before the race. Nothing big and never anything else but a 1st Place ticket.  Never a place, show. exacta, or trifecta.  And if he won I would give him another tip.

How did that work out for you ?

I really don't think it made much of a difference but I do remember one night at Yonkers my horse was 60 to 1 coming down the stretch second and the driver appeared to give it a little more with the $20 Dollar Win Ticket in his pocket. The horse won. Like I said , I don't think it had any bearing on his effort. Who knows ?

I think on the grand states rarely except in prelims. The choice of post for prelim winners helps. The bush-league tracks hell yes they gamble. Just follow the money. You make 35K a year driving but you have a brand new 65K truck and live on a 500K farm. That was a Canadian move for decades. Buy a run-down farm, Gamble, put the dollars into improvements, and then sell the farm at a huge profit. They just legitimized the money.

And that Canadian strategy came straight from the mouth of a driver who is now a Hall of Famer to my ears.

All you have to do is follow the money. Does not add up..... you know the deal.

This is what it looks like when the driver doing it has no clue how to not be obvious....watch the 5....

I never knew a driver that didn't bet or had some one bet for them. The money they make from driving them is taxed. If you think that they don't bet your are naive or to put it politely you are just plain stupid.
