Classic example of setting one up
« on: February 19, 2021, 09:32:38 AM »
Just look at the lines and then go watch the second race replay last night from Pompano.

Fern trains the 1/5 shot #4 and the 11/1 shot #7
Not a single driver pulls with an 11/1 horse cutting the mile

And for all of you fuckers saying go cry about losing my $1 exacta box. Fern has made the same move for decades. How do I know?  Way before co mingled pools the move was to be on track hitting multiple windows with small wagers. To do that you needed trusted bet runners. mid 1980’s. Pompano and Freestate.

agree the races was a little shaky but it was a pretty bad field. fern also been in a horrible slump, not sure even he would have confidence betting himself.

yup
so the 5 and 6 are 1 to 2 lengths off the gate , those drivers should be fined
david miller is thinking about pina coladas and nails his ass to the rail in a soft middle half, fined, hahaha

but the real issue is allowing trainers with multiple entries in the same race
in this case it was doubly insane since both horses had 100% common ownership and should have been made to race as an entry
but tracks hate that and it effects the handle

what say you gabe ???

Uncoupled entries with 100% common ownership doesn't go back that far.

I'm sure OP scored big in the 80's but I doubt the uncoupled horses had common owners.

But it's a great set up race for sure and the OP certainly moved the story along.  tmbz1

Last race at the Meadows today (2/19 Race 13) has similar scenario.

Same owner/trainer group for both the #1 and #4.

#4 was bad first start in new barn last week and may "wake" up at a price today.

Good call 4 wins and 1 tires in the lane off a cheap half.
