I think this is correct.

As crooks at Flamboro go, Jimmy Whalen was a pretty straight shooter and put his livelihood on the line to try to get a better deal for horseman -- and has paid dearly for it.

I understand the move by SC, but I think this says more about the WEG and the state of the industry than Jimmy Whalen.

It goes back to 2009 and Whelan voiced is dissatisfaction with the revenue sharing with regards to what was outlined by the Canadian Parimutuel Authority. At that time WEG exercised it's property rights which banned Whelan from entering his horses at WEG tracks. At that time the ORC ruled in favour of WEG and then Whelan said he was going to appeal and take it to the Supreme Court which the case was eventually heard and Whelan lost so now because WEG has banned him from entering his horses SC feels it is in their best interest to remove Whelan from the board. And now maybe people will believe when I say WEG has more power than you think, after all SC is really a WEG arm.
