You want to talk about "no idea"..check out this link

Its a weekly show...hosted by Brodie Lawson....same name name as the head of Woodbine ??   just a coincidence

A weekly show....and Moniques always looks great

Sometimes she explains handicapping..and what goes into it........but rarely on the show gives  ahint of her selection

Very nice person on and off the air. Knew her before her days on WEG tv.

Nice comment
She always presents herself well

IMO  what she misses is a mentor..who could explain to her more about the insides of racing ,   eg  qualifiers, equipmeny changes......maid ens...and the nice purses for finishing 2nd and 3rd  each week,
She always presents a "postive " approach.....whic h if you were management...thta t is what you want.

She has no skills as an interviewer , and  management should see that...and help her develop..or let Chad do them...He has improved a lot in  the last 2 years..and he is a pretty good race announcer too...a good asset  for a race track to have some one like him.  If I was running Mohawk..there would be 2 people each night to do the show...pick from Chad  Monique and Randy........the runners from Woodbine always have 2 persons

The plan is to attrack new bettors.....espec ially women..and Monique fits the big plan
They  knew what they hired...its their job to make it bettor

his name is jason portuando....year s ago his uncle had horses with Harold Stead and later on Portuando worked for Harold....he transitioned to Tbreds as an excersize rider.....lately he works the Tbred side at Weg as the in house handicapper.
Portuando couldn't pick his father in a room full of Chinamen..terribl e handicapper.!!

Good point

When he opens his mouth..........no thing of any value comes out.

But WEG needs his profile

His resume says all the things he has done......but not how well he has done them

If he been good at what he has done...he would still be there

I saw a Robert Reid as a trainer in a Canada book last week.  And I have heard MV has quite the bush.

2 different people.
Robert Reid Sr trained a couple though.

just to reiterate
not suggesting she is not as nice person , have no idea
comments are strictly based on the fact I think you should have some knowledge/insight/experience in terms of what you speak of

oh wait we have a new contender
laura diken on tsn race night live just said perfect storm had been second in her last race in newfoundland(nfld) which given the symbols is actually correct but of course most anyone associated with the business would know that is northfield
good god
and nobody else on the set bothered to correct her
now i get that the show is clearly geared to newbies who know nothing which is fine
same goes for the mohawk race show, don't pretend to be an insightful show when it is just fluff
many more qualified people for these jobs who actually know the business and handicapping but wait, oh yeah they are older white males, cant have that now can we
sad really
