back in the 60's, 70's and 80's if you were going to the track you were going to the "trotters" if you owned any harness horse, you owned a "trotter". It was a blanket term for any standardbred racer.

Or "jumpers" as my dad used to all them.

"Come on kids, we're going down to the jumpers tonight"
