ex black Chicago trainer Richard burton sayz the springfield brothers jesse and james taught all these other black guys the business...jesse and james used to get many 2 year old babies ready and goin fast...put a real fast qualifier or two on em...them sell em off to some dumb white farmer up here on the Chicago circuit...yes jesse and james springfield both made a living doin that for years...doc hencock put Richard burton in the business with a couple nice steeds...they loaded em up..won many races with josh Sutton at Maywood...but then the positives came in...they stiffed on the fines and now brother eslie has taken over the training duties...eslie campaigned a really good 2 yr old ohio mare that he sold to mickey burke - the mare made a million dollars - yes the jesse and james springfield roots are going strong on the Chicago circuit..many of these current black trainers are very very good and talented
