Who Thinks Racing Should be allowed?
« on: April 04, 2020, 11:27:37 AM »
Just a horseman and his horses, the drivers and racing officials.  No one else. I don't care if they allow betting or not.  That way there would be no post drag. Get the whole card over in less than 2 hours.  3 races in the paddock at one time if possible.  Trailers outside till it is your turn

Donīt think any state will allow it, they are putting their employees at risk. I canīt believe they will make harness racing a essential service. All racing states are in a no unnecessary travel ban. Do you really think they will give an exemption for harness racing? Pa wants to take the money away, this gives them the opening. Donīt think you will see racing till end of June at the earliest.

so lets put aside racing for the moment
any business that can operate safely needs to reopen asap to restart the economy
nobody is staying in full lockdown mode until june or longer
a new normal needs to be established
lets face it people go to the grocery store , yes it is essential but it does not mean it cant be transferd there
horse racing is one business that can operate with minimal interaction and thus a safe environment

Ya the country needs to open racing asap, no patrons, run them like qualifiers, no one in paddock race from trailers. Sounds like a disaster in the making. States will NOT put their employees in harms way. Do you really think america really cares about harness racing.

WE need to race to pay our bills. Seems to be going fine at Gulfstream and Tampa. Lets hope the folks at Pompano are the first to go back up. There are normally 15 people in the stands so we can extend our social distancing to 50 feet. The paddock will be empty. This will give us the chance to get ready to ship when New York, Pa, and Mass. settle down by June 1.

the question was should harness racing be allowed
not how would it be funded and by whom
there is ways to get the funding  for purses( most of us don't have access to this information)
with all the money governments are throwing around you think they wont access it if they think harness should be a go
and save me the bs about who cares about harness racing, it is about getting people working asap so they can start to support the economy no matter what the job
