The scuttle bug from the backstretch is that Surick didn't like Blum admonishing his horses at times behind the gate. So when the original argument between Blum and Sophia took place while Surick was far away in the winner's circle, Surick learned about it and went to Blum questioning him on it. Blum lost his cool and Surick filed a complaint with Sophia, claiming he overheard it but judges heard from the guard at the entrance to the track from path who said Surick was nowhere near it and ended up doing nothing.

Word was Blum was fuming and it's believed Surick then set it up to have someone with a video camera at the bottom of the lane when he approached Blum, who again lost his cool, only this time threatened to kill Surick.

Surick called Howard Taylor and wanted Blum arrested. A hearing was held yesterday where Blum was fired.

Blum was wrong but Surick was also wrong IMHO for budding in and claiming he was there at the start of the feud when he was shown not to be. He indeed set up Blum and Blum was foolish enough to fall for it.

But as it's been noted here, there are many who already dislike and disdain Surick and maybe, just maybe, Karma will finally arrive at his door in a powerful way. One can only hope.
