The Gist of it was Blum had issues with a certain female trainer and a horse of hers in a race. They had words and she claimed Blum was vulgar and crude. Surick claims he heard it but Blum freaked out over that claim because witnesses saw that Surick had run to the winner's circle and was nowhere near the original conversation.
They have a hearing and nothing is done.
Blum is freaking out over Surick' false claims and then Surick seems him on the path to the paddock (some felt Surick went there on purpose hoping to agitate Blum). Blum freaks out and Surick secretly videotapes it.
Because of what was said, Blum was fired today.
Rumor is Surick should keep looking over his shoulder not just for Blum, but also one or more drivers who are good friends with Blum are looking to get back at Surick.
Maybe they will loosen the wheels on the golf cart -LOL

It’s a sport guys will curse and use words, if they can’t handle it find another job. No one got punched or hurt problem is society got soft you can’t say anything which is sad. Freehold doesn’t care about Surick. If they could build something other than the track on that land they would. Point I’m making is if this was a place that cared about a profit they would not make him the face of Freehold. If you are known as a rat or a cry baby you can’t market that. Freehold doesn’t care about Surick, never will, the race secretary might need him but that’s it. Take him out of Freehold, what changes? No one goes there betting is sub par. He’s not untouchable bc the product as is stinks. Take him away what’s the worst that will happen? It’s like having a ball hog on a basketball team the player gets the stats and the team loses. If this was a true place that wanted to entertain and make money they would realize he brings nothing to the table.

Surick is just like Rick Zeron. Load his horses up and call commission on other trainers he thinks are loading them up, walk around like he is all that and run his mouth. When a 65 year old man stands up to him he runs to commission!! Where I come from they call that a pussy!!!

The original reason for all this was a heated discussion Blum had with a trainer about a horse Hanney drove. Blum and a gal named Sophie (I believe) went at it while Surick was doing his usual ego-driven run to the winner's circle and therefore was not present when the two first went at it. But as his history seems to suggest, that doesn't mean Surick can't be "creative".
Surick would then say something to Blum about it, they would have a heated argument, whereupon Blum threatened to give him the beating some feel is long overdue. They end up having a hearing over all this and since it was he said, she said, so nothing was done.
A few days later, Surick and Blum meet on the path and words are exchanged. "Ironically", someone videotaped it, and it showed Blum threatening Surick with bodily harm (one can dream). Surick, of course, had the video to show (surprise, surprise).
Surick, supposedly claims he wanted to press charges. A hearing on this took place yesterday and Blum was fired.
My final word on this is when Karma finally appears at Surick's feet, there will be many rooting for Karma.
P.S. I'm told Blum is very capable of not having this end here and multiple drivers, who weren't members of the Nick Surick fan club to start with, are quite upset as they have been long-time supporters of Blum and his work. I suspect Surick will be carrying his camera 24/7

I'm not sure what exactly happened but I can tell you this...You should never mess with a man's livelihood. Find another way to retaliate if you feel you were threatened. I'm an old fuck and I am aware times have changed but if I am Nick, I would watch my back. Bobby Blum has deep roots in that neck of the woods and was part of Gagliardi's gang when they ruled Atlantic City Racetrack. I know Mike is dead but some of his fellas aren't. The scuttle bug from the backstretch is that Surick didn't like Blum admonishing his horses at times behind the gate. So when the original argument between Blum and Sophia took place while Surick was far away in the winner's circle, Surick learned about it and went to Blum questioning him on it. Blum lost his cool and Surick filed a complaint with Sophia, claiming he overheard it but judges heard from the guard at the entrance to the track from path who said Surick was nowhere near it and ended up doing nothing.
Word was Blum was fuming and it's believed Surick then set it up to have someone with a video camera at the bottom of the lane when he approached Blum, who again lost his cool, only this time threatened to kill Surick.
Surick called Howard Taylor and wanted Blum arrested. A hearing was held yesterday where Blum was fired.
Blum was wrong but Surick was also wrong IMHO for budding in and claiming he was there at the start of the feud when he was shown not to be. He indeed set up Blum and Blum was foolish enough to fall for it.
But as it's been noted here, there are many who already dislike and disdain Surick and maybe, just maybe, Karma will finally arrive at his door in a powerful way. One can only hope.

Sadly after talking with Karen and Mike Faglirone , Bobby is done . Nick Surick pressed for it , everything was on tape and video that’s a real scum bag right there . To have your groom tape and video the confrontation and have him fired or brought up on criminal charges . Douche bag .

Poor Blum. He lost his cool over the fact that Surick never witnessed the original exchange between Blum and Sophia but the fact that he put himself into it is what so infuriated Blum and Surick knew it. That's why he had his guy there to record because he knew Blum would fly off the handle.
And here's the real irony to all this - the judges found no reason to do anything to Blum but it was Bruno's decision to can Blum over fear Surick would sue if they didn't.
Some think they were also concern that he would not enter all his horses of which now more than one race has at least two of Surick's and clearly helps make the cards.
I only hope to live to see when Karma does show up at Nick's face.

Can someone with intelligence please tell me why owners send horses to trainers that have violated the rules in one way or another, been fined or suspended keeping giving horses to clowns like Oaks and Surick among along with many others? Owners who willingly give horses to these guys knowing their background, should be penalized as well when an infraction occurs. Any reasonable thoughts welcomed...

His freaking ego is so big that he needs to run down to the winner's circle all the time. He actually looks to see who's looking at him. He doesn't even train them for the most part. He now puts two in the same race more than once a day.

P. Bo Sowers takes horses on deals...never turns them down...just works out different deals.......very big on pre racing..even when going for small Maine fair purses
He tried Dover and Rosecroft a couple of years ago
At one of these, he had 4 "soda" positives in one night.......He was told not to come back

And yet , he and his wife still file the Canadian resident tax form W - 8 EC1.every State they race in ...which claims they live in Maine or New York temporarily, to race , but really live in Canada and pay their taxes there.
Ask his wife what she does with the year end report of race earnings in Maine , or Masachusets

I doubt if the ex surick horses are allowed to race in Maine. Our horsemen have suffered enough with no racing. And with no fairs, horsemen could have a tough time getting in every week. I doubt if Plainridge lets in these horses either. A few years ago a big stable from the barred Lou Pena barn attempted to get into Plainridge using a different trainer. They were barred. I'm sure the same rules will apply.

Sowers owners have raced here for years I agree keeping mass out with current supply! just about 5 yrs ago mass would only let us race when they to fill a class now if purse are down they will take ALMOST! Anybody !surrick horse s will have to serve there time if PROVEN!

The surick horses won't be a go if you ask the paddock and Maine is overloaded. The casino not being open will be how long we can go. Plus every other week? with no fairs, can't race every other week, Plus with 1/2 mile racing. if you draw 6,7 ,8 you might as well stay home. We lose $$. Shipping, paddock,lasix costs?? No money coming in and more money going out. Not good to be in. I think more of us will try Plainridge if we can compete. Only way we can make a living now.
