not sure the early start to the fair season will be good. usually opening day has full fields and closing day comes up light. looking like its closing day with the 5 horse fields. could have had some better field sizes if the stakes races would allow 2 trailers. having a few non betting 4 horse races only benifits the stake horse owners. full field of 8 gives a decent betting event. anyways i will be there helping the county out.

Should be shut down.  Nobody lives up there anymore plus too far to travel.  Maybe some people come over from Canada.  Five horse fields are useless to gamblers.  Great tradition so maybe a couple days per year should continue.  I am feeling negative this morning.......

fairs are a great tradition. i know i started tagging along with my dad and uncle to the fairs then onto the real tracks. they are the most useful way to introduce people to horse racing. sadly its hard anywhere to fill the entry box. years ago pres isle drew people from the base in i think limestone. thats been closed for years. still a good crowd does show up for the races. it is a long way from the nearest tracks either bangor or exibition park across the border but they do try to keep racing alive at the fair. also some of the nicest people you can meet.

  • Calhoun: Thx I'm leaning to the 5 there.  Those CD/GP full field races look the best on the page. 1/2 length from being a G3 winner.
