Scaboro Downs
« on: March 25, 2019, 04:42:15 PM »
I see the downs is opening this weekend.  Rough winter up here.  I wonder how many will be ready.  This must be the last year.

I see they have one qualifying race Wednesday with three horses?  Rest must still be pulling sleighs up in the county.

if your horse raced after october26 2018 it doesnt have to qualify so theres only a few that will have to. and yes this is the last year for the downs.

Must be “riveting!!”..... (5) Horse fields with Supers in every race!!!  How do those Hillbillies stand the excitement???  The Switzer kid crosses the wire with a syringe in his arm... the Campbell kid goes as fast as he can to out run the cops....and the $17.00 dollar pitchers of beer leftover from last year are the bargain of the decade!!!  In the words of the great Sonny Ying .... “Rots of Ruck, men !!!”

16 exciting races over the weekend. nothing but the best in talent. a little short on entries but in no time all will be cranked up and ready to fill the entry box. over/under drew wins is 8.

funny question   management,  scarborough,   non existant .   signal will go out to the maine otbs. i believe day atthetrack.com  cost money to send it out. maybe very little but the ownership is out to take home every last penny of the money scarborough gets from the casinos.   announcer does have all the answers. not a bad hanndicapper. likes a few cold ones too.

My uncle was a fixture for years at Scarborough Downs....loves harness racing and horse racing in general. He once told me that the once great Walter Case Jr. started his career at the Bangor Fair. Is that true? Anyway shout out to my uncle Chris G.

Walter Case started at Lewiston, which also provided the start for Billy Parker. Both might have raced at Bangor, but Lewiston had longer meets.

shout out
