When will 50% not be 50%?
« on: March 24, 2019, 09:02:46 AM »
Now that the Heeb has his welfare package everybody gets a check.  Horses finishing 6th on back get 1% off the top of the purse.  Then whats left of the purse gets split amongst the races forwardly placed finishers,
Remember when you compete at the Yonker, you get 50% of the advertised purse. Not some gerrymandered number

Also remember, when you draw the outside at Yonkers, you are going home empty handed. At least you get shipping money guaranteed at Meadowlands.

And horses should pay a fee to race in an overnight, $500 or so would be fair. Doubt many No tries would happen when you have to pay to race

and take those fee's and put them into a betting pool where customers, no horsemen or owners allowed, can bet to win a huge jackpot at the end of the night.

12 races @10 horses per race @500 per horse= a $60,000 dollar betting pool for the customers

good plan
its not about not trying, more about allowing many smaller owners to make money and stay in the game
yonkers should do the same, must be a great feeling shipping to yonkers when you draw outside the favourites and you know you are racing for 4th or 5th at best
and no owners do not need to pay $500 for entry to overnights, we have already spent thousands to buy and train the horse so the track can have product and generate betting revenue...comment from a true $.10 bettor i assume
