never liked letting them down completely. paddock with light jogging maybe twice a week.

toughest thing physically, is the stress of bringing them back from being down completely.

30 DAYS

60 DAYS

90 DAYS..

?

Depends on horse--if you are talking older horse--that has no major issues-6 weeks rest is enough--if possible jog 1-2x a week because that gets them back racing faster.
Some injuries take longer-while others--time out does nothing and the injury will be the same even if turned out +3 months-so those you need to keep working on .
Younger horses--like those in training now--most get 3-4 weeks off-somewhere before qualifying to freshen them up-and allow little injuries to heal up--young horses heal v fast. At end of 2yo season 3 months+ is the usual as they need to grow.
3 yo--same around 2-3 months before starting up as 4yo depending how many starts they had..
