Has anyone made a decent harness gambling score last 5 years?

I can't scratch my ass ......


Actually used to win some decent $$ at YR and RR years back.....


I cannot handicap anymore.....I am real bad......


Doesn't matter if I bet $2 or $200      cannot win.....


virtually stopped wagering....


Once they put the passing lane in.... it was all over for me.....


and my annual handle went from approx $100k -200k to    under 10k


I cannot win....so why bet......?


after u guys tell me how bad I suck.....tell me how you have done....


and if u actually can win.....what angle(s) do u use.......

very tough these days ,betting fewer and fewer races as most get over bet

I used to be a speed handicapper at Yonkers....when they had a hub rail....



and the drivers could actually back the half down a bit and u would actually have a decent chance to win at  5-1 , 6-1, 10-1 odds....


Now even when u are 3-5....the pock ricket just comes up the rail....and the

banked turn gives the horse on the outside a slingshot effect....


You are usually dead wood......


I cannot see why drivers even cut the mile at YR....


I have basically given up harness wagering.....fun to watch....


but I cannot pick the winner...unless u give me 1 thru 5   ...maybe I would


have  a shot......


and they still take out 20% or more from the win pool.....


I guess they have alot of suckers out there willing to throw their $$ away.


Total waste of time.....

I had my first good hit on a cheap race at Red Mile --- $1700 tri for a dollar ticket... One of those oddities, I was hoping for $600....

Tough to nail big score in harness racing.... pools, even at the Meds, are not that big.... I have played more runners at the big tracks where they handle the Meds entire card in one race. Caught a couple good paying pick 4's, difference when a harness track has a guaranteed 10k pool in pick four compared to the runners that may have a 250k guranteed pool.

I wager almost only on the big m and mohawk. I only wager win bets on any half mile or 5/8 in the rare instance I play any of those. The inner posts have too much of an advantage. When I do play a win wager at 1/2 miles it's almost always an angle related to a trainer.

I've hit some big scores for .20 p5 and p4's at mohawk. A few in the 5 k range. It's tough. If you have an angle on 1 horse I would use that horse and spread as deep as you can afford in other races.

This is entertainment for me though. I'm not seeing myself with a positive roi at yr end.

Pre simulcasting I was a better bettor than I am know.  I used to really pay attention to the races and identify horses to bet on the next time they raced.  I find myself betting the odds board now instead of paying attention to a race.  Now that is a bad bettor.

had a $3,100+ tri at YR for $2. still can catch a few nice $400 & up exactas every now and again. dime bets have killed super pools at Meds. if you're a super bettor I swear you're bettor off playing the $.50 min. supers at the Meadows...tossing Palone if he's overbet a plus.
Phl + PcD - no action!

Mohawk would or should be top of the list but it's real tough to handicap, and finishing off a tri or super wheel on any sort of budget is even tougher.

Best value - little $ for ok return? either HoP or ScD. can hit ?X on lots of their $.10 supers and $2 exactas.

New us tax rules are  a plus for deep multi horse/race players. Make dealing with Uncle Sam less of a consideration

never was easy, never will. look for value. small pools make it difficult. not uncommon to see the 1st and 2nd choice run 1-2 and the exacta pays near $20, other times it pays $8.
