Many trainers I know don’t gamble on the horses at all

A few I know gamble a bit in general excluding horse racing

But the majority don’t gamble on either from what I’ve seen

My trainer did.  Had one first time off claim.  Told me the horse would be “real good tonight”. Saw him hit the window for quite awhile.  Horse set track record that night.  True story.

WHAT A HORSESHIT THREAD! 91zxa.1

The real answer is 100% GAMBLE! hcx.1

I had three trainers who all said they didn't gamble. angbk

Then when they were 100% sure one of their horses should win they would make a bet. 95xz.2

Earl Luttrell rarely bet but he did bet when he hard one ready. I made a couple of his bets. tmbz1

Now does this make them "gamblers"?

Not in the sense that they are playing every race or betting every gimmick their horse is in.

Two of my trainers I know for a FACT bet Win and Exacta only. hcx.1

And then only played exactas with 3-4 other horses.

Seldon Ledfraud would deny he gambled as he stood in line collecting $8,000 on a race at the Meadowlands that Eric won. 68xv.2

Horsemen have lied about their own gambling ever since pari-mutuel wagering was invented. 43z.stf

Don't believe one fucking word of it! 68xv.2

I saw our trainer's wife at the track exactly once.  We were program M/L 7/5 and looked 3/5.
She goes in the little $50 min room at Hazel.  We go off at 9/5 and run 3rd.  The second favorite wins by 3 lengths at 5/2.  See the wife cash and take off.   I asked the trainer what happened.  He laughed and said we'd run better next week.
