Yep 7-2 in favor. Just not a NJ thing. It's now a state by state to legalize their own rule for sports betting. IL another poor state via the way of politicians spending more then they have and a pension system that's only 37% funded will likely look to legalize sports wagering in the next few years.

Supreme Court makes sports betting a possibility nationwide

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court has struck down a federal law that bars gambling on football, basketball, baseball and other sports in most states, giving states the go-ahead to legalize betting on sports.

The Supreme Court on Monday struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act. The 1992 law barred state-authorized sports gambling with some exceptions. It made Nevada the only state where a person could wager on the results of a single game.

One research firm estimated before the ruling that if the Supreme Court were to strike down the law, 32 states would likely offer sports betting within five years.

The court's decision came in a case from New Jersey, which has fought for years to legalize gambling on sports at casinos and racetracks in the state.

HORSE AND HARNESS RACING JUST BECAME A SMALLER PIRCE OF THE GAMBLING PIE AS STATE LEGISLATURES WILL USE THE MONIES EARNED TO FILL OTHER COFFERS THAN PURSE ACCOUNTS

The Supreme Court is the end all.  Not a Higher court.

HEY dummkopf
The U.S. Supreme Court is the highest court in the nation. Its decisions set precedents that all other courts then follow, and no lower court can ever supersede a Supreme Court decision. In fact, not even Congress or the president can change, reject or ignore a Supreme Court decision.

STATES THAT ALREADY HAVE LOTTERIES WILL BE MORE APT TO JUST INCLUDE THE SPORTS BETTING INTO THEIR DOMAIN.  DONT KNOW WHAT STATES WILL WANT TO HELP RACING OUT, EXPECIALLY THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE SLOTS PAYING THEIR PURSE ACCOUNTS
