If you turned down 10 why would you sell for 3.7?

Kiwi John Curtin was the buyer.

Curtin founded HarnessLink and has been an agent for many horses sold to US such as Shartin, Lazarus etc

You would think the person who offered $10 million would at least bid $3.8 million?

Looks like Beau will be prominent in the Southern Hemisphere

I’m pretty sure the original offer came from Curtin and his clients, Donnie he got what they would consider a great deal. Not sure why owners thought they would get anywhere close to $10-15 million.

50 mares at 10k each is 500k.

Think they will do much better.

Hearing Steve Jones and Ray were underbidders. Petrelli would've had a meltdown. Have to love Curtain, he dumps their POS on us to breed then steals away the most promising young sire away.

What if his first crop turns out to be duds?  He get 2 years of full book and then a down turn.  How much will they lose?  And I think he will be more than $10k to breed to?

Curtin said he was still working out details regarding Beau Jangles, but that the colt would race this month in the Matron Stakes and Progress Pace, both at Bally’s Dover Downs, before being retired to begin his stallion career.

“Everyone has called but I’m not sure where he’s going to go yet,” Curtin said. “He’ll stand in America or Canada this coming season and then he’ll stand Down Under. He’ll be shuttled down the first few seasons anyhow. People have to see the horse to appreciate him. You’ll never see a better looker.

“I’m 75 years old, and I’ve seen three great horses that were great gaited and had high, high speed. One was Niatross, Somebeachsomewher e was the next one, and Beau Jangles is the next one. He’s got such a great gait, such great manners, and he’s got high, high speed. And he wears nothing, no gear. He’s just a beautiful pacer, as good as you’ll ever get, and that’s what we need. We want to breed great-gaited pacers with high speed.

“I really believe in the horse. I believe this horse can help to change the breed. I put him in the same boat as Somebeachsomewher e. He changed the breed dramatically, and I reckon that this horse is the next one. That’s my opinion, so we’ll see.”-----------he is comparing BJ to Niatross and SBSW!----WHAT?
