THIS IS HUGE: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney just absolutely TORCHED Pete Hegseth and the Trump administration — and he didn’t mince words.
After Hegseth decided to spend his time mocking Canadian cadets on social media, Carney fired back, calling the behavior “beneath their office.”
But then he went even further.
Carney told the Trump administration to “stop doing memes, stop throwing shade, stop trying to be tough” and actually start getting SERIOUS.
OUCH.
That is about as direct as it gets.
Pete Hegseth has spent seemingly endless amounts of energy trying to cultivate this ridiculous tough-guy persona — chest-thumping, picking fights, insulting people online and constantly trying to prove how strong he is.
And now the leader of one of America’s closest allies is essentially telling the Trump administration: Enough with the act.
Stop pretending to be tough.
Start behaving like serious people.
That should be HUMILIATING.
Because America’s relationships with our allies aren't some internet trolling competition. Canada and the United States have been partners for generations. Canadians have fought alongside American troops. Our economies are deeply connected. Our national security is deeply connected.
These relationships deserve seriousness.
Instead, Hegseth is taking shots at Canadian cadets online while the Trump administration escalates an increasingly ugly fight with one of our closest neighbors.
And Carney clearly has had enough.
He didn’t respond by trying to out-troll them.
He basically told them to grow up.
This is what happens when political leaders become more obsessed with LOOKING tough than actually governing effectively.
Eventually, somebody calls the bluff.
And Mark Carney just did it in spectacular fashion.
Pete Hegseth wanted to play the tough guy.
Canada’s Prime Minister just told him and the rest of the Trump administration exactly what he thinks of the act.
That’s how you put a bully in their place.
