Let's Recap This Past Week's Incompetence and Stupidity Brought to You by Donald Trump for the Week of August 16–22:
Oh, what a week this was. So much stupid. So much incompetence.
It started off with Donald Trump boasting about his "great relationship" with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. You know, the mass-murdering communist autocrat who tortures his people and is probably guilty of nearly every crime against humanity that exists. This is something Trump did several times this past week — because that's where we're at in this country.
The current President of the United States is bragging about his "great relationship" with one of the most evil tyrants and murderers on the planet.
Donald Trump staged a photo-op to try to take credit for prescription drug prices seeing their sharpest drop in 60 years by holding up a printout of an article — that actually credits Joe Biden for that historic decrease in the prices of medicines.
In his continued lies about "vandalism" at the Reflecting Pool, Trump shared an image of dry, damaged grass to "prove" that people were vandalizing the monument. Because it's definitely "vandalism" when grass turns brown and is more easily damaged in the middle of summer — especially not too long after thousands of people had gathered there for the Fourth of July celebrations.
He really is a total f*cking idiot.
This president announced that there aren't any ongoing or planned talks with Iran to end his war. So, "good news," everyone, it looks like we're all going to be paying much more for gas and basically everything else for much longer because the "master negotiator" can't end his pointless and inept war.
Trump shared a post claiming that the Census Bureau found "24,000 illegal votes" when taking a look at 128 million votes with another 32 million left to examine — that wasn't based on any kind of actual reality.
The 24,000 number was from the DHS, not the Census Bureau, and it was in relation to an "investigation" they did where they flagged 24,000 potential cases where non-citizens were registered to vote. It had nothing to do with actual votes cast. It was such a nothing of a story that the state of Texas, where I live, and is quite "red," looked into the claims within the state and largely blew all of this off because there was nothing there.
The worst part was Trump's horrible math where he said the 24,000 number would "explode" once they went through the additional 32 million votes. Yes, because when you find 24,000 within 132 million, you're going to find so many more... in the much smaller number of 32 million.
And even if you wanted to ignore all the flaws and lies in what Trump claimed and take everything he said at face value, these numbers would account for 0.01875% of the total number of votes — or just under two-hundredths of a percent.
The idiot actually proved that the 2020 election wasn't stolen because, again, even if you took every lie he said in this post as 100% factual and removed all those "illegal votes" Trump lied and claimed were found, Joe Biden still wins the 2020 election.
It was so much stupidity it was really a lot to unpack, but that's what you get when you're trying to analyze a complete moron.
Then we had the whole Natalie Harp and Donald Trump "scandal" that Sen. Jon Ossoff kicked off by simply mentioning that she's very close to this president and frequently travels with him. Comments that sent the right-wing media into a full-on comical meltdown, trying to attack Ossoff as a "sexist" and claiming his remarks were "totally unacceptable" — the same shameless hypocrites who have stood by Trump while he's told a female reporter to "quit, piggy," called another a "b*tch," and is literally on video bragging about sexually assaulting women.
Those are the folks who found Ossoff's comments "unacceptable."
One thing we learned from all of this — besides how weird this whole story is, from her apparently running on golf courses to keep up with his parade of golf carts while he's out playing, to her riding illegally and dangerously in the cargo area of an SUV to make sure she was at one of his court appearances — is that the Trump administration and the conservative media clearly think something very strange is going on between Harp and Trump, as they did a lot of textbook projection based on some fairly innocuous comments by the senator.
Oh, and it's obviously that a lot of the information that's been leaked about Harp is coming from within the White House. So, there are folks within that administration who clearly want to see her gone.
We had Republican Senate candidate Darline Graham's jaw-dropping admission during a debate that "national security isn't her thing" when she was asked about issues between Taiwan and China. Always good to see a Trump handpicked candidate who has absolutely zero qualifications for the position she's running for in Congress admit publicly that the national security of the United States "isn't her thing." And the terrifying part is that she's probably going to win.
Trump stood outside the White House rambling on about granite and what they feed the grass — because those are definitely top priorities for most Americans right now. Had Biden done this, Republicans would have been going ballistic and saying he was clearly in severe mental decline and should resign as president.
Little Donny threw a hissy fit about his inability to end his war in Iran by claiming that he's going to launch "the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country" — which literally made my eyes roll when I read it.
Nobody is taking this ranting lunatic seriously anymore. His words are meaningless. They're just online temper tantrums by an 80-year-old nitwit with the emotional stability of a toddler.
As the economy continues to weaken, there was a lot of "it's Joe Biden's fault" this week by many members of this administration and the Republican Party. It will be the last day of Trump's presidency, and they're still going to be blaming Biden for everything negative. It really is comically embarrassing at this point. It's become a punchline for a lot of jokes I use anytime something bad happens around me.
Stumped my toe on a door? Thanks a lot, Biden. You did this!
Luckily, we're seeing more members of the media push back and mention that we're nearly two years into Trump's presidency and basically every major economic metric is worse now than when he first took office.
Donald Trump announced his big "plan" to lower beef prices — by importing more beef from other countries, artificially lowering that imported beef by 25%.
To word that in another way, his "solution" to historically high beef prices is to allow more imported beef into the United States at fixed rates to artificially lower the cost, which I'm sure is going to make domestic producers oh-so-happy as he floods more imported beef into the market that's specifically priced to undercut our very own domestic beef producers — which will almost certainly add more stress on them and likely drive quite a few out of business.
Another "business genius" move by the guy who bankrupted casinos and said 2006 was the "perfect" time to start a mortgage company, just before the worst housing crash in history.
Trump went on one of the most deranged rants I've ever seen him go on against Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Thomas Massie. I honestly can't even adequately describe how insane it was. I posted about it yesterday, so go take a look for yourself if you haven't seen it already. It's the word-salad ramblings of someone who's clearly not mentally well.
Finally, Trump applauded the Supreme Court temporarily allowing the construction of his stupid ballroom to continue while they review the challenge — by claiming that the military and other presidents have been wanting this for "100–150 years."
No, they haven't. This is nothing but a vanity project for this weak, insecure, narcissistic president who's desperately trying to tie his name to the White House and our nation's history in a way that can't easily be erased.
I'll say it again: If this thing gets built, and I'm fairly certain that it's going to, I hope the next Democrat who's elected comes in and tears the damn thing down. I would happily fly into D.C. just to watch that demolition.
Well, that's clearly not everything, but those are a few of the lowlights from this week.
