I spent my summers at a bungalow colony in Monticello as a kid. My dad took me there to watch the races at 8 years old. Had a corned beef sandwich and an ice cream as I watched the races. I loved the action and never looked back. Thanks Dad. I love and miss you.....

Mid 60's my brother is working in a bank and is asked to work one night a week at the local track. His job there was to calculate the show prices. The family went to check out what was going on and never looked back. Track record at the time JB Senator 2:07 driven by Peter Miller. The mutual tickets were all preprinted and a daily double ticket required the first half winners to line up again to exchange their ticket for a second half ticket.

When I was illegally betting at the Meadowlands in 1991 at 17 years old and hit my $2 exacta box 9/3 with Nine Across and WL Shining League and it paid $100.40.

I went to Roosevelt Raceway when I was 17. My job was paying $4 per hour. My bet was $10 to win on a 5-1 horse. He won and paid $13. I was amazed that I could win $55 in a little over 2 minutes.

I got hooked at 15 yrs old by watching the horses jog at my track that led to me getting a  stall cleaning job. I went on to obtain my licenses to drive and train. Now I've been retired from racing and still can't get enough of what's left of the sport!!💯
